ACT Vocation Specialist (Assertive Community Treatment)

You need to be okay with filling a lot of roles, roles that have you scratching your head thinking “what in the world am I doing?”. One day you could be a house cleaner, Instacart worker, mover, companion, work out buddy, med runner, book club member, vet specialist, video game extraordinaire, etc. The list could go on. In the moment these jobs can sometimes be hard to fill, but each morning when you come back to check in with all your co workers you realize everyone is scratching their heads right along side you. Job Profile:

  • Do you have experience with day to day work with SPMI (Severe and Persistent Mental Illness) clients?
  • Are you looking for a community based role, meeting clients in their homes to help them develop productive and positive life skills?
  • Are you a creative, persistent and patient problem solver providing motivation and generating engagement with clients?

What we need for this job:

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, vocational rehabilitation, or related fields
  • One to two years' experience with job development and/or vocational rehabilitation with a similar population can you help clients' write and develop resumes, and improve their communication skills and relationship building skills?
  • Reliable transportation to get to client’s homes and be at least 21 years old with a clean driving record
  • Familiarity and/or working knowledge of ACT (Assertive Community Treatment)
  • Familiarity with IPS model of Supported Employment

If selected as a provider for this clinical service position, you will be required to provide proof of education and transcripts (and proof of licensure, if applicable) and pass all required background checks prior to hire. You will also be required to complete MHP’s credentialing process and attend new hire orientation/training before you will be able to begin work.
