Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling or related Mental Health discipline, active clinical licensure (LPC/LCSW) and at least 1 year experience providing counseling to adults and /or families. Must possess a valid Driver’s License. A genuine desire for working with veterans and their families.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide services that are designed to engage, support, facilitate veterans use of needed resources and available supports to maximize their integration back into civilian life.
  • Conduct assessment of referrals, or where appropriate, render, a mental health diagnosis to determine whether the veteran is clinically appropriate to receive services.
  • Develop and maintain treatment plans with veterans and facilitate clinical groups designed to support veterans and their families.
  • Provide education both individually and in group context to help veteran’s families understand the first signs of mental illness and to help them develop concrete strategies for intervention. This includes targeting the veteran-family unit as a whole.
  • Connect veterans with community resources, linkage and referral, as needed.
  • Through one-on-one staff support, ensure veterans stay connected to the services they need to promote positive outcomes.
  • Record keeping as required by funding sources thorough the electronic clinical record software, and/or accreditation agencies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director.
