MDS Coordinator

Responsible for planning, conducting and coordinating educational programs for the development and improvement of necessary skills and knowledge for all Sub-Acute personnel.

Essential Job Duties:
 Ensure Orientation and in-service programs are conducted in compliance with facility, state and federal regulations and needs
 Plans and participates in new hire and annual competencies as well as monthly CNA/RNA continuing education
 Maintains staff schedules
 Demonstrates ability to correctly operate equipment and maintain a safe environment
 Provides patient care in accordance with hospitals policies and procedures, regulatory standards and fulfills other job duties as requested within their scope
 Serves as a role model for the Mission, Vision and Values of the organization and fulfills other job duties as requested within Scope of Practice
 Maintains current competencies as well as updated knowledge in specific area of practice

Education/Experience:
 Two years of direct patient care as LVN or RN in long term care facility and must complete a minimum of 24 hours continuing education in planning, implementing and evaluating educational programs in the field of nursing. The course must be BRN approved or administered by an accredited education institution.

Licensure/Certifications:
 Current California LVN or RN license in good standing with California Board of Nursing
 Current Basic Life Support for health care providers Card
