Full Time Food Production Maintenance Mechanic Position Available for 1st and 2nd shift production lines ~ *_Food production background a plus! _*Most every aspect of making every single product created in our kitchens today—including our hand-rolled deli-style burritos, kid-friendly mini tacos, and hearty breakfast burritos—is crafted with freshly prepared ingredients that really satisfy—like handmade tortillas made fresh every day in our own bakery, real shredded cheese, perfectly seasoned beef, tender chicken and authentic-inspired spices.

Job Duties

1. PM’s will be done on a daily basis.
2. Troubleshoot and repair production equipment in production operations, utilities, buildings & grounds, etc.
3. Attention to detail and accuracy in work required.
4. Personal qualities of tact, dependability and ability to work well with others required.
5. Clear communication abilities, written and verbal.
6. Knowledge of computer software helpful.

Responsible for working safely and reporting all unsafe acts and conditions

Understands and troubleshoots the entire ammonia-based refrigeration system, including repairing and replacing parts as appropriate

Maintains 110 volt single phase and 220/480 three phase systems as well as repair and/or rebuild magnetic starters

Repairs plumbing problems, including pressure regulations and valves

Repairs and troubleshoots electrical forklifts, including motors, drive units, and hydraulic cylinders.

Performs welding on pipe, racking forklifts, and finish work

Changes and troubleshoots electrical contacts when necessary

Maintains and reports all building equipment as necessary

Responsible for preventative maintenance on all equipment (freezer doors, forklifts, etc.)

Responsible to report food safety and quality problems to their supervisor

Safety:

  • Function as an advocate and overseer of safety.
  • Participate in the company’s safety team.
  • Provide training and oversight in safety related functions.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years supervising industrial mechanics.

Job Type: Full-time

Experience:

  • PLC: 1 year (Preferred)
  • industrial maintenance: 3 years (Preferred)
  • refrigeration systems: 1 year (Preferred)

License:

  • HVAC (Preferred)

Education and Experience

Two years of production supervision experience

Five years of production experience

High school diploma or GED,

Competencies
Background and demonstrable familiarity with: ammonia refrigeration systems, LEAN manufacturing, HACCP, and GMP food system requirements.

Building operation/maintenance.

Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems, industrial electrical, mechanical, pneumatics, hydraulics, and PLC’s.

Able to read electrical diagrams and maintenance manuals to accomplish repairs

Understanding of case-ready production maintenance processes

Basic mechanical aptitude, effective and efficient

Basic diagnostics and problem solving skills

Communication skills, written and verbal.

Solid work ethic, trustworthy, team player

Basic math and computation skills

New hires at our facility are immediately placed on a 3 month probationary period. During this time, employee attendance and performance is closely monitored. While on probation, management reserves the right to move an employee to a different position anywhere in our manufacturing facility to suit the needs of the business.

Working Conditions:
Refrigerated environment - temperatures average 40 degrees Fahrenheit

Ability to work overtime

Standing on your feet for the majority of the shift

Fast, but regular paced environment (i.e., not "chaotic" or frenetic like a restaurant kitchen)

Very physically demanding during the entire shift.

Prior experience in food prep is preferred.

Perform repetitive hand & wrist motion throughout a shift.
Lift/push/pull 50+lbs as required throughout the course of a shift.
Twist and bend the body as necessary to perform job related tasks.

Kneel/squat/climb as necessary to complete job related tasks.

Grasping & pinching motions to complete job related tasks.

Able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time

Meet/maintain USDA food handling requirements and other governmental and/or customer requirements.

Ability to meet FDA guidelines of public safety for work in a food production environment.

Hours: 4:30 PM - 2:30 AM M - F, although you must have flexibility to come in early and to stay late when requested and to be available for weekend shifts if needed. Great for those tired of restaurant hours and looking for a steady, predictable work schedule.

Compensation: Starting pay $22.00 + shift differential. Upon successful completion of probation period, compensation will align with job production line assigned.
