MeetKai Inc. is looking for an awesome Game Developer proficient in Rust to join a 100% remote team which is creating the most powerful WebAssembly-based VR game engine.
In this role, you’ll be working on MeetKai’s proprietary cross-platform 3D game engine written entirely in Rust, which compiles to WebAssembly to reach the target of “The Web’s most performant multiplayer VR game engine”. If you are interested in the convergence happening now between 3D game engines, Web3, Crypto, VR, multiplayer platforms, and WebAssembly, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make your mark in the next great evolution of information technology in our lifetime - the Metaverse.
In the first 6-9 months in this role, you may be involved in:
Learning the full stack and breadth of our game engine
Implement and optimize new 3D asset-processing & rendering features
Fill out integration with the full WebXR API for use with new VR peripherals
Develop and improve networking stack for multiplayer data syncing and static geometry loading
Implementing with Spatial Audio and Voice Chat features
Integration with Rapier physics engine
Creating demos to demonstrate various new features of the engine
Our engineering organization is flat and this role will collaborate directly with other engineers working on the game engine core.
This role requires
1+ year professional experience with Rust programming language
4+ years professional experience with C/C++/Go or another compiled, typed language
2+ years working in a Game Developer equivalent role
Excitement and passion about Rust, VR, WebAssembly, “the Metaverse”
