MedTrust is now accepting resume for Diagnostic Medical Sonographer-Ultrasound Tech for Naval Medical Center Portsmouth,VA. This is in anticipation of an upcoming government contract award.







Position Details:





+ Cardiac Sonographer (Cardiac Sonographer, Pediatric Cardiology Clinic)



+ Services are not required on the day of observance of federal Holidays.



+ Services shall be provided Monday through Friday, between the hours of 0700 and 1800 hours.







+ Cardiac Sonographer (Heart & Vascular Care Center)



+ Services shall be provided Monday through Friday, between the hours of 0600 and 1800 hours.







+ Vascular technologist-(Vascular technologist, Vascular Laboratory Dept.)

+ Services are not required on the day of observance of federal Holidays.





+ Services shall be provided Monday through Friday, between the hours of 0600 and 1800 hours.

Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (Vascular technologist)





+ Be certified as a Registered Vascular Technician (RVT) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS); or be registry eligible with application in the current year; or have graduated from a training program in vascular technology or cardiovascular technology that has been accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Canadian Medical Association (CMA).



+ Have a minimum of twelve (12) months of full time (at least 35 hours per week) clinical vascular testing experience within the last thirty six (36) months.





Have one (1) of the following:





+ Completed a formal two (2) year program or equivalent in another allied health profession;





or





+ Completed a bachelor's degree unrelated to vascular technology;





or





+ Completed at least six hundred (600) noninvasive vascular examinations under the supervision of medical and technical staff.



+ Provide two letters of recommendation written within the last two years attesting to the HCW's clinical skills. At least one letter must be from a physician or nurse who has personally observed and evaluated the HCW and who can attest to the HCW's clinical skills in the care of patients. The other letter may be from a clinic or hospital administrator, physician or nurse who has personal knowledge of the HCW's patient care skills in a similar clinical environment. Reference letters shall attest to the HCW's communication skills and ability to relate to patients as well as professional and other interpersonal skills among staff members and must include name, title, phone number, date of reference, address and signature of the individual providing reference.





Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (Cardiac Sonographer, Pediatric)





+ A current primary certification and registration as a Sonographer from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (S-ARRT).





OR





+ A current post-primary certification and registration as a Sonographer as determined by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (S-ARRT).





OR





+ A current certification and registration as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer as determined by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS-ARDMS).



+ American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or American Registry for Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) approved continuing medical education of at least 12 hours within the last 12 months.



+ Have successfully completed a subspecialty in Pediatric Echocardiography program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).



+ Possess a license, certification or registry from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), Pediatric Echocardiography (PE) or National Society of Cardiopulmonary Technicians (NSCT) certification.



+ Have a minimum of 3 years' experience within the last 5 years as an echocardiographer in a child and adolescent health care setting.



+ Have successfully completed continuing medical education within the last 24 months.



+ Provide two letters of recommendation written within the last two years attesting to the HCW's clinical skills. At least one letter must be from a physician or nurse who has personally observed and evaluated the HCW and who can attest to the HCW's clinical skills in the care of patients. The other letter may be from a clinic or hospital administrator, physician or nurse who has personal knowledge of the HCW's patient care skills in a similar clinical environment. Reference letters shall attest to the HCW's communication skills and ability to relate to patients as well as professional and other interpersonal skills among staff members and must include name, title, phone number, date of reference, address and signature of the individual providing reference.





Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (Cardiac Sonographer, Heart & Vascular Care Center)





+ A current primary certification and registration as a Sonographer from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (S-ARRT).





OR





+ A current post-primary certification and registration as a Sonographer as determined by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (S-ARRT).





OR





+ A current certification and registration as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer as determined by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS-ARDMS).



+ Possess American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or American Registry for Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) approved continuing medical education of at least 12 hours within the last 12 months.



+ Experience as a Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer of at least two (2) years within the preceding four (4) years



+ Experience with 2-D, M-Mode, Doppler, Colorflow, Bubble Study, and contrast media. Experience must have been obtained following completion of a program in Echocardiography accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). (The experience can be conveyed through transcripts, resumes, publications, letters of recommendation, etc.)



+ Provide two letters of recommendation written within the last two years attesting to the HCW's clinical skills. At least one letter must be from a physician or nurse who has personally observed and evaluated the HCW and who can attest to the HCW's clinical skills in the care of patients. The other letter may be from a clinic or hospital administrator, physician or nurse who has personal knowledge of the HCW's patient care skills in a similar clinical environment. Reference letters shall attest to the HCW's communication skills and ability to relate to patients as well as professional and other interpersonal skills among staff members and must include name, title, phone number, date of reference, address and signature of the individual providing reference.
