Medix Infusion has a current opening for a Certified IV Mixing Pharmacy Technician for our infusion pharmacy. Candidate must be IV certified and have IV compounding experience.
The Certified IV Mixing Pharmacy Technician’s responsibilities:
Complies with USP 797 guidelines while compounding medications
Accurately measures and compounds medications in an ISO 5 environment
Assists in preparing ancillary supplies for all medication orders
Assists in labeling compounded medications for the pharmacist to check
Assist patients with their drug therapy and pharmacy care issues.
Process new and refill prescriptions
Promote patients’ drug compliance.
Report all drug adverse events.
Establish and maintain good relationships with physician/healthcare practices.
Assist in streamlining communication with the patient, insurance companies, pharmacist, nurses, lab and other healthcare-related parties.
Work as part of a team to provide support to other members of the healthcare team to promote a positive environment..
Perform all tasks in a safe manner that is consistent with corporate policies as well as state and federal laws.
Strong time management and organizational skills
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Excellent attention to detail
Self-motivated and able to work independently
Other technician responsibilities designated by the pharmacist
Other Requirements Certified IV Mixing Pharmacy Technician:
Possess a current TX Pharmacy Technician Certification
Be at least 18 years of age (or as required by state law).
Must be IV certified
Must have IV compounding experience
Pass a drug test.
Offer flexibility in work hour scheduling, including weekends as necessary.
CPR+ Pharmacy System experience a plus
