Position: Software Engineering Manager
Medicom is in search of a Software Engineering Manager that will lead a team of developers and subject matter experts in developing, deploying, and monitoring complete features in Medicom’s Eco System. This individual will report to the Vice President, Products. This individual will provide leadership and technical expertise in software development lifecycle, product and development strategy, and team development. Practice high performance development principles such as Continuous Delivery, DevOps, test driven development (TDD), as well our technology stack.
Responsible for the full lifecycle of software development (requirements gathering, designing, building, testing, maintenance, and support).
Guide your team through mentorship and career advocacy by providing goals, career path, promotion guidance, and motivation to your direct reports.
Encourage individual decision-making amongst your team to support growth opportunities.
Foster an open environment of mutual support and engineering effectiveness.
Drive and maintain a culture of quality, innovation, and experimentation.
Coach engineers on best practices and technical concepts.
Influence and drive software engineering and architecture best practices and standards within the team and wider organization.
Assist in the recruitment and hiring of talented software engineers.
10+ years of experience in software development as senior developer or team lead.
3+ years of management experience.
Have successfully managed software engineering teams to deliver reliable, fault-tolerant, scalable software services.
Skilled in the software development life cycle, software architecture and writing software.
Experience building and delivering cloud based software systems.
Serverless software development (AWS, Azure or Google Cloud)
Test Driven Development and continuous delivery models
Healthcare IT experience (e.g FHIR, DICOM, HL7)
