Role and Responsibilities
Travels between customer facilities providing on-site placement and collection of Medical Waste Management waste containers (Sharps, Rx, Haz, Paper) through a healthcare facility, as required or requested.
Accurately record container service numbers in MWM software after each rotation / pull.
Assist with installation of cabinets and brackets in new and existing healthcare facilities. Perform other related duties as needed.
Flip, dump, and sterilize reusable sharps containers at MWM hub when needed
Assist in labeling and waste segregation as required/needed.
Maintain a clean and organized work area provided to MWM by the healthcare facility.
Perform routine equipment checks for any damaged, dirty, or non-functional items.
Maintain clear understanding of inventory and budget for supplies.
Help identify opportunities where MWM can save by implementing additional or specific containers to an area of the hospital.
Communicate to Supervisor any current or potential issues that may arise in a facility.
Professional conduct is to be used when performing sharps tech duties. MWM dress code is to be followed at all times. You are a front line employee and a direct reflection of MWM professionalism and core values. MWM collared shirt, khaki or scrub pants, walking shoes or boots, No piercings other than ears required.
Fills in for other Team Members that are on vacation, sick, leave, etc. Schedule varies based on coverage needs at points of the year.
Demonstrating strong communication skills and tact in providing superior service in a variety of settings and situations.
Two or more years of customer service experience. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Must possess reliable transportation to travel between MWM customer facilities.
Education equivalent to graduation from high school, or GED. Technician
