Primary Job Duties: Point of Care Testing
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) assists in providing clinical services in a unique retail setting. Under the supervision of a Nurse Practitioner, the LPN will assist with greeting patients, taking vital, completes accurate patient documentation via computerized charting, as well as duties such as supply ordering, inventory, and weekly patient logs. 1. Quality Patient Care a. Performs and documents a focused history per clinical guidelines. b. Obtains and documents vital signs per Minute Clinic clinical guidelines. c. Performs and documents vision and hearing tested. Collect laboratory specimens under the direction of the Nurse Practitioner. e. Performs CLIA waived laboratory tests and documents results under the direction of the Nurse Practitioner. F. Provides immunizations to children and adults pursuant to LVN Guidelines and Vaccination Protocols g. Provides patient education verbally and in writing regarding the diagnosis and treatment plan. h. Demonstrates a courteous and professional manner toward the public. i. Responds to patients/customer’s needs. Focuses on retaining current patients and attracting new clients
2. Record Keeping a. Requires patients or parents to sign consent. b. Accurately input the patient’s demographic information, insurance information, and payment information into the computer program. If the computer is down then utilize the paper charts for demographics, SOAP charting, and receipt. c. Accurately uses SOAP charting. d. Correctly utilizes credit card machine including settling the machine at closing.
3.Integrity and Professionalism. Adheres to the appropriate code of ethics and works within the scope of practice. b. Demonstrates a high level of confidentiality and trustworthiness. c. Acts in a way that promotes a positive, respectful, and supportive environment for patients and families. d. Takes responsibility for the quality of own work. e. Continually strives to increase knowledge and skills. Stays current with medical/healthcare trends and procedures, etc. f. Maintains appropriate and up-to-date licensing, certifications, and CME. g. Uses resources efficiently, conservatively, and is cost-conscious. h. Follows policies and procedures. i. Presents self in a professional manner; always follows the dress code. j. Defines goals for performance appraisal and completes goals established at the previous appraisal. k. Regularly attends and participates in staff meetings, promoting teamwork, and providing constructive, honest input. l. Supports the organizational goals and objectives. m. Fosters a team environment among co-workers and does not negatively influence employees or site operations.
4. Marketing a. Explains services, benefits, and fees to the general public and retail employees who visit the clinic. b. Explains services, benefits, and fees to friends, family, and the medical community. c. Keeps brochure holders full at the clinic d. Ensure that the Introduction to the flyer is always available at the clinic front counter. e. Assists with other marketing projects as assigned by corporate.
5.Clinic Environment a. Keeps the clinic clean and uncluttered. b. Informs corporate of any need for repairs to clinics or equipment. c. Follow universal precautions in cleaning up or disposing of any blood or body fluids. d. Performs control testing on CLIA waved laboratory testing per manufacturer instructions and documents results in e. Returns all resources back to the original place, which is consistent in every clinic.
6.Corporate. Participates as requested in representing the company to the public at various professional conferences and seminars. b. Communicates to corporate possible questions and agenda items for staff meetings. c. Works with corporate on process implementation. d. Assists in finding replacements to cover unanticipated time off or schedule changes that are unrelated to illness. e. Assists in new employee training when needed.
7. Additional Duties - Employee may be required to complete or be responsible for additional job duties as assigned by Nurse Practitioner or Senior Practice Manager
2-3 Weekdays, every other Weekend, M-F 10 hrs Sat 8 hrs Sun 7 hrs.
There is really only one shift you will be working one week =37 hours and the following week 28 hours.
