Operations Manager - Richmond

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides oversight and management of all day-to-day operations to assure the optimal performance of all diagnostic and interventional radiology services.
  • Demonstrates a high degree of knowledge and understanding of imaging and interventional radiology services and activities.
  • Effectively manages facility based on data and benchmarks.
  • Works within and adheres to operating and capital budgetary goals.
  • Monitors operating statistics on an ongoing basis to ensure adherence to the budget based on value proposition.
  • Prepares and presents clinical and administrative reports to accurately reflect facility operations and processes.
  • Resolves quality and performance issues in a timely manner.
  • Monitors patient schedules, workflow, and activities to assure a smooth and coordinated traffic flow while reducing backlogs and promoting an easy button culture.
  • Creates and promotes an environment of excellence in clinical practice and exceptional patient satisfaction.
  • Collaborates to continuously improve services and increase efficiencies between modalities within the facilities.
  • Assists in developing and implementing a strategic plan for imaging and interventional services.
  • Assures staff and patient scheduling is adequate to meet the needs of the patients and community.
  • Collaborates with the Practice team members to develop, implement and monitor policies, procedures and standards to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Participates and supports the development and implementation of new programs, services and equipment.
  • Responsible for the implementation and monitoring of safety and infection control plans, radiation safety programs and ongoing performance improvement activities.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable regulatory and accreditation agencies for the facility.
  • Assures that all communication technologies in the facility are used in accordance with HIPAA standards.
  • Assures employee knowledge of all applicable compliance programs and serves as a resource to its importance.
  • Manages human resource functions for the facility to include clinical and support staff positions.
  • Serves as a conduit of communication regarding staffing issues and the scheduling of human and materiel resources.
  • Develops and empowers staff to the benefit of the individual and the Practice.
  • Maintains positive and effective work relationships and communications.
  • Supports the billing activities of the facility, assuring accuracy and compliance with all federal, state, and locally mandated policies.
  • Assists in developing operating and capital budgets for the Practice.
  • Reviews and monitors cash receipts on a daily basis.
  • Manages the scheduling of patient procedures, submission of billing information, and copays to the billing company.
  • Manage pre-certifications and follow-up for denials.
  • Maintains all office equipment, information technology systems, and other office supply inventories.
  • Travel between facilities as necessary.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned


  • Position requires a Bachelor’s Degree, Business Administration or Healthcare Administration preferred.
  • Requires experience or registry in Radiologic Technology by the ARRT or an appropriate credentialing agency such as the RDMS (Ultrasound) or CNMT (Nuclear Medicine).
  • Four years relevant supervisory or leadership experience required.
  • Ability to work with physicians and staff in a confidential and efficient manner.
  • Experience in a physician owner practice preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office – Word and Excel
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Proven ability to work independently in a professional manner.
  • Sound decision-making skills and time management skills required.
  • Ability to manage varied workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certified Radiology Administrator (CRA) Preferred.
