Ecommerce Assistant Digital Category Manager – Richmond, VA; Jacksonville, FL other locations maybe considered.


Current Need
McKesson is seeking an eCommerce Assistant Digital Category Manager to join our team in Richmond, VA. 

 

Position Description

The eCommerce Assistant Digital Category Manager is responsible driving Revenue and margin on their categories, maintaining our vendor relationships, supporting day to day functions and tactical needs of the Digital Category Management team. The ideal candidate for this role will be a natural merchant, with strong knowledge of vendor management and ecommerce channels, like Amazon, Walmart & eBay. The candidate will work Manufacturers and with internal stakeholders like Channel Managers, Marketing, Brand Compliance, Inventory, Assortment, Operations Contracts and Pricing.

 

Key Responsibilities

Data Management: coordinate with Assortment on master product data changes, product launches and product lifecycle management. Work with inventory on closeouts, product transitions.

 

Merchandising: Present to Category Manager opportunities for improvement on key items & manufacturers. Work with internal stakeholders and manufacturers to ensure products are easy to find in our sites, they are accurately presented and show accurate & fast shipping timelines. Works with marketing to prioritize items to focus on.

 

Vendor management: Coordinate with vendors on online assortment and focus items. Manages execution of the channel strategy, including MAP/MSRP, promotions. Follows up with internal stakeholders on the execution of vendor agreed projects. Monitor supplier financial, and support Category Manager on action plan. Notification of disruptive sellers or marketplace malpractices on priority manufacturers.

 

Analytical: Provide market research for new products or product gaps, inform Category Manager of changes observed, new products as well as gaps on the market that could influence new product opportunities. Provide analysis of merchandising holidays, new products or promotions. Support Category manager on new item launch discovery as well as upcoming out of stock back up plans and discontinued products.

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent and typically requires 2+ years of relevant experience.


Critical Skills

  • 2+ years’ experience in process/project management, inventory management, Category management or ecommerce channel management
  • Working knowledge of ecommerce internet platforms (Channel Advisor, Commerce Hub, Net suite, etc.)
  • Ability to demonstrate effective communication skills and solution development with a large variety of audiences
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel-pivots and VLOOKUP’s)
  • Working knowledge of analytical reporting tools (Excel, looker, tableau) strongly preferred
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving
  • Attention to detail and team player. Follow through on project through completion

 

Additional Knowledge and Skills

  • Previous experience in vendor management and contract negotiations
  • Demonstrated analytical ability and financial acumen
  • Ability to analyze data or insights to determine industry and consumer trends


Education

  • 4-year degree or equivalent experience
