 McCarthy is seeking an experienced, culture-centric Enterprise Applications leader who is passionate about developing and leading high-performing teams and delivering modern, secure, and intuitive applications and solutions that drive value to the enterprise.  This individual should also have extensive project management leadership and be interested in leading large, complex implementations.     


Reporting to the Executive Vice President of Information Technology (EVP-IT), this role will have immediate leadership and project management responsibilities for McCarthy’s “Finance Transformation”, which includes the redesign of existing processes and implementation of new technologies including ERP and financial reporting and forecasting capabilities centered around financials (Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, and Tax), construction financials, payroll, and financial and forecasting reporting.  Upon conclusion of this effort, this role will provide strategic vision and leadership to our Enterprise Applications team and will ultimately be responsible for the management and implementation of our enterprise applications and solutions that support McCarthy’s employees and business partners.  This includes ensuring the availability, integrity, and scalability of all enterprise applications including ERP solutions and related systems. This role will work closely with peer IT and business leaders to design and execute on the company’s technology roadmap.

Primary Responsibilities 


  • Develop high-performing individuals and team promoting an environment based on trust, respect, and inclusion where diverse perspectives are encouraged. Actively coach, develop, and celebrate successes and promote a collaborative, continuous mindset across the organization. 
  • Partner with business and IT leaders to align on top priorities, develop business cases where applicable, and plan and execute initiatives that deliver value and great experiences for the organization.
  • Provide leadership and management oversite on projects and application integration development initiatives ensuring successful delivery that meets or exceeds expectations on value and experience. Help teams remove roadblocks, mitigate risks, and celebrate successes and continue to develop our project management capabilities.    
  • Recruit, develop and retain top talent, create genuine connections, and continuously seek opportunities to grow and develop the team.
  • Manage key vendor partnerships including consulting opportunities, contract negotiations, and overall impacts and performance of the teams/products.  


Solution Delivery 

  • Partner with IT and business teams to identify, recommend, and implement impactful technology projects.
  • Develop a strong understanding of key operational processes and workflows including the key business drivers behind those processes.  
  • Partner closely with key stakeholders to consider new and better ways to apply technology to drive greater business outcomes (improved collaboration, efficiency, quality, etc.).  Facilitate effective discovery sessions and techniques to uncover specific business needs and requirements.
  • Identify emerging technology trends for SaaS, cloud, automation, and integration technologies. 
  • Develop, implement, and monitor software development policies and controls to ensure data accuracy, security, and legal and regulatory compliance.

Project Planning, Execution, and Change Management 

  • Execute mindful project planning for each technology initiative, including resource planning, schedule, key milestones, risk mitigation, issue management and ongoing communication.  
  • Execute projects in an agile, highly collaborative manner with a goal of delivering value throughout project execution. Lead and implement the cultural changes needed to enable a continuous delivery model.
  • Plan, develop and execute testing, communication, and change management activities. Seek opportunities to automate and streamline certain activities such as testing. 
  • Coordinate training content development based on best practices established for application capabilities.
  • Facilitate change management activities including communication plans amongst all project stakeholders.



  • Minimum 10+ years of implementation and delivery experience with enterprise business systems. Experience with ERP financial systems such as Oracle, SAP, CMiC, JD Edwards, etc.
  • 10+ years of team leadership with a proven track record of developing high-performing teams.
  • 5+ years of overall leadership for enterprise applications (strategy, delivery). 
  • Excellent project management and change management experience with desire to lead large, complex initiatives.
  • Demonstrated capability in leading IT transformational initiatives in complex/dynamic environments including experience evaluating/implementing SaaS / Cloud solutions and partnering with 3rd party consulting services. 
  • Understanding of modern tools and platforms (e.g., cloud platforms, web technologies, API, continuous integration, and deployment).
  • Ability to remove barriers, resolve conflicts, act with a sense of urgency, foster a culture of transparency and sense of purpose, and create clarity of expectations and accountability within the team.
  • Highly collaborative and motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
