Application of clinical knowledge and experience to develop and support the infrastructure necessary for Quality Management Services activities within Mayo Clinic. The Quality Specialist supports the medical center in analyzing current practice patterns, identifying areas for improvement and developing methods to help implement and evaluate improvement changes. The Quality Specialist serves as a resource and provides system support to department/divisions and institutional staff in the areas of practice analysis and improvement. The Quality Specialist provides facilitation, data collection and reporting of quality improvement activities. The Specialist serves as a resource for education and training regarding quality improvement, accreditation standards, internal process improvements, and external regulatory requirements (i.e. JCAHO, CMS, ICSI, etc.)
A baccalaureate degree in a health care or business related field. Current RN license (as applicable) is preferred. Masters preparation and/or advanced course work beneficial. Minimum of 5 years healthcare experience (clinical, administrative, quality, health information management). Must be willing to obtain advanced training and/or certification as the quality improvement environment requires. Ambulatory care experience helpful. Demonstrated leadership qualities with exceptional oral and written communication skills required. Must be self-motivated and able to work independently without close supervision. Must also possess the ability to work well with others in a creative and challenging work environment. Current driver's license essential as routine travel will be required within the region or to external meetings. Basic computer knowledge and skills required. Knowledge and experience with continuous improvement concepts required.
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $2055.68.

Monday through Friday days
Scheduled hours may fluctuate to accommodate meetings.
