Our manufacturing team in Roanoke is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee our production, support order fulfillment, warehouse organization, and lead the production floor to meet targets while maintaining quality standards. Schedule:
· 8-hour shift Monday- Friday
· Weekends- On- call
Work Conditions:
· Varying temperatures on the manufacturing floor
· Subject to high levels of noise from machinery
· Personal protective equipment, including steel-toed boots, earplugs, gloves, lab coats, masks, and safety glasses or goggles required
Principal Duties/ Major Responsibilities:
¨ Work in synergy with the Quality Control Manager in the daily operations of the manufacturing floor, ensuring the production processes from start to finish are being produced to the required specifications and company standards.
¨ Production planning based on orders- raw materials, finished products
¨ End of day production report; to meet production goals
¨ Organizes and directs daily operations of production employees.
¨ Operates equipment to process products (if necessary).
¨ Ensures product is meeting standards.
¨ Documents daily production activities and ensures that all safety and GMP rules are followed and enforced.
¨ Completes paperwork accurately.
¨ Ensures that job duties and responsibilities are performed in accordance with company policies and procedures.
¨ Must meet production deadlines.
¨ With guidance from Management, operate designated areas within approved guidelines, such as labor, yield, and material use.
¨ Accountable for the enforcing of procedures, general policy, work methods, equipment operation, GMPs, and safety policies.
Requirements/Qualifications:
¨ Two (2) years of previous food manufacturing experience is preferred. Prior experience in a food manufacturing environment with thorough knowledge of food manufacturing processes and procedures.
¨ Lead/Supervisory experience preferred.
¨ High School diploma or GED.
¨ Knowledgeable in Good Manufacturing Practices
¨ Knowledge of LEAN Manufacturing
¨ Food Safety knowledge a plus (Company will train)
¨ Ability to safely operate and maintain equipment with high precision and control in a work environment where product quality is of the highest priority.
¨ Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).
¨ Experience teaching and training others.
¨ Organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
¨ Strong and effective communication skills – verbal and written.
¨ Confident reporting to Management (line performance, line status/issues, personnel problems, etc.) and willing to recommend solutions.
¨ Capable of allocating resources and recognizing those experienced and inexperience, ensuring they are assigned appropriately.
¨ Sense of urgency.
¨ Attention to detail.
¨ Reliable transportation
¨ Be able to lift at least 50 lbs. regularly
¨ Reliable, predictable attendance is required
¨ Employees must be able to climb stairs and be on their feet for long periods.
¨ Must have a practical working knowledge of basic arithmetic functions (multiplication, division, addition, subtraction).
