Maxim's Package Development Department is seeking Assembly Packaging Engineer with a focus on advanced packaging technology development in San Jose, CA.
In this position, you will be responsible for working with the BU and TR&D groups to define new package requirements, doing proof of concepts, feasibility and DOEs to develop and optimize packaging processes with maximized manufacturing yields, electrical and thermal performance, and package reliability.
Develop new materials and assembly processes
Work with cross-functional teams to develop processes, packages, and modules
Interact with internal and external customers, subcontractors, and equipment and material suppliers
Drive failure analysis, materials characterization, and surface and interface analysis
Stay current with packaging process development in the industry, universities, and research centers
Conduct competitive benchmarking in package designs and materials
Design for manufacturability and design for reliability
Ability to clearly communicate with internal teams and subcontractors
Must be able to work across functional boundaries to gather information needed to understand problems, ability to leverage teams, and motivate a team environment
Ability to apply Design of Experiment and ability to analyze data and draw decisions
Create intellectual properties
- Master's degree in Materials Science Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering.
Strong quantitative, analytical, problem-solving and conceptual skills
