Mavencare is seeking experienced Home Health Aides to provide palliative care services to hospice patients throughout the five boroughs: Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, the Bronx, and Staten Island.
The Hospice Health Aides will be responsible for completing a variety of activities and tasks supporting the care of hospice patients. The ideal candidate will have prior palliative care experience and an ability to provide hospice care. The role requires a reliable vehicle and an availability of at least 30 hours* per week.
Hospice training will be provided.
Job starts Immediately
Provide personal care which includes bathing and personal hygiene.
Read and record vital signs (temperature, pulse and respiration and/or blood pressure)
Assist the patient with ambulation, transfers, and positioning or prescribed exercises as instructed by the registered nurse or physical therapist
Prepare medically prescribed nutrition and fluids
Perform other homemaking as required
Document and report progress of patient's health and condition
Shorter shifts arranged within nearby areas
Certified HHA registered with the NYS DOH Home Care Registry
1-2 years of home care experience
Valid Driver’s License
Reliable motor vehicle
Availability of at least 30 hours a week
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to work with hospice patients
Experience as a CNA (Certified Nurse’s Assistant)
Experience providing hospice care
Local to Nassau county
$13-15 per hour
30 hours* a week
Reimbursement for mileage
* Hospice Health Aides will be paid for a minimum of 30 hours per week.
For example, an HHA scheduled for 25 hours a week will be paid for 30 hours of work. An HHA scheduled for 35 hours a week will be paid for 35 hours a week.
