SQL Developer

The SQL Developer is responsible for supporting design & development of dimensional and normalized data models describing data elements and how they are used, following standard data modeling practices for a Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence platform. The SQL Developer will write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database creating a data dictionary. The Developer will analyze, consolidate and tune database for optimal efficiency, monitor systems and platforms for availability, Monitor database jobs for timely and accurate completion, and monitor capacity and performance of database and jobs for effective uptime and response time to the consumers of the data. The position will be located in our new office situated across from the trendy Krog Street Market in east Atlanta. We are close to MARTA and has direct access to the Beltline.


Job Requirements:

  • Excellent knowledge of relational database design concepts, coding, debugging and tuning PL/SQL (functions, triggers, procedures)

  • Experience with Microsoft SQL (creating/modifying tables, views, sequences, hierarchical queries, aggregate functions)

  • Experience designing and building complete ETL/SSIS processes moving and transforming data for ODS, Staging, and Data Warehousing

  • Proficient in how to deploy to and debug a production SSIS environment

  • Constructing and optimizing complex SQL queries to support reporting needs

  • Experience in database design, development and data modeling

  • Ability to identify problems, and effectively communicate solutions to team

  • Ability to work in a dynamic multi-team environment as well as independently

  • Willingness to adapt with new technologies quickly

Technical Requirements:

  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar role

  • Experience with PL/SQL, SQL

  • Comfortable with Linux

  • A four-year degree in a technical/ business related field

  • Team-oriented and collaborative, capacity to mentor junior team members

  • Leadership ability, excellent written and verbal English skills.

Nice to Have:

  • Hadoop: HDFS, MapReduce, Hive, Pig

  • Exposure to Cloud services such as Azure, AWS

  • NoSQL: HBase, AWS DynamoDB, Cassandra, MongoDB
