Title:Production Quality Engineer
Shift: 1st (Monday - Thursday)
Reports to: Quality Engineering Manager
In this role, you will be responsible for providing quick response to production, quality and other support departments when production is impacted due to quality of incoming parts, test or process. Support to production is done by performing initial investigation, analysis, containment and rejection management while creating a detailed, clear and concise report to communicate issues with the concerned department.
The Production Quality Engineer will direct Quality Engineering Technicians and Quality Auditors jointly with the Quality Supervisor. They will ensure that the employees are trained, and complete their day to day assignments.
Summary of essential job functions
Champion standard practices of quality principles from defect detection to root cause, preventive action and continuous improvement.
Lead containment activities and provide feedback/forward to affected departments.
Reviews the implementation and efficiency of quality and inspection systems
Translate customer quality requirement and take on responsibility for end-to-end product
Investigates customer complaints and non-conformance issues
Clear, concise and complete documentation of all quality issues affecting production
Analyzes data to identify trends and opportunity for improvement in the quality system
Plans, conduct and monitor testing and inspection of materials and products to ensure finished product quality
Knowledge and skills
Excellent written and oral communication skill
Problem solving ability, knowledge of quality assurance tools and techniques, ability to write clear, concise technical reports from investigations
Experience in 8D, 5 whys, fishbone, pareto and other quality assurance tools and techniques
Functional knowledge of different tools and gauges for measurement and investigations
Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint / Google suite equivalent
Minimum requirements:
This role requires the candidate to be a US citizen / permanent resident
BS degree required in Engineering
2 or more years of relevant hands-on experience in process/production quality engineering
ASQ or equivalent certifications preferred but not required
