Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Strategically partner with the internal MasterTag team, along with assigned key accounts, growers/suppliers of horticultural products to successfully grow the MasterTag market share with this category of accounts. Cultivate strong relationships within the assigned accounts while developing solutions for their business success (retailers, large growers and plant brand owners).

 

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

  • Develop a business plan and sales strategy for the assigned key accounts that ensures attainment of MasterTag and the customers sales goals and profitability.
  • Accountable for driving sales execution, performance across existing and new accounts, and overall customer satisfaction.
  • Initiates and coordinates development of action plans to achieve measurable account development milestones.
  • Responsible to lead, engage and utilize the internal MasterTag team as needed based on project scope and urgency of need.
  • Effective engagement and understanding of critical customer business issues and needs to bring new ideas for product and services to enhance relationships, sales success, and downstream retail consumer success.
  • Proactively sell MasterTag's capabilities and efficiencies to any retailer assignments and their grower / vendor network. 
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance relationships with decision makers, key influencers, and other suppliers of horticultural input products.
  • To be the voice of the customer to internal MasterTag stakeholders and the voice of MasterTag to the customer.
  • Forecast sales and product demand in advance of need to support efficient execution by MasterTag team, at a minimum four times annually.
  • Support customers with preparing for any annual program line reviews with their senior management.
  • Regularly integrate the garden consumer needs into products and presentations while leveraging our curated consumer insight research.
  • Establish and maintain an annual expense budget for the activities necessary to maintain and grow sales.
  • Quote annual or product pricing within existing accounts. Participate in annual review of profit margin.
  • Attend company specified trade shows and shopper marketing events.

 

OTHER FUNCTIONS

  • Collaborate with all areas of the MasterTag organization to insure customer needs are being met.
  • Contribute to an atmosphere of positive teamwork.
  • Achieve a level of relationship with key accounts where MasterTag would be a participant at the customers annual planning events. (Marketing plans, new product introductions, etc.)

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • BA in business, horticulture, or related fields.
  • 3+ years' horticultural sales, purchasing, product development, or in-store merchandising experience highly desired.
  • Sales and/or horticultural printing knowledge required.
  • Strong understanding of the horticulture industry supply chain desired.
  • A strong interest in consumer/shopper marketing, retail environments, and the future/potential for omni-channel sales in the horticulture industry required.
  • Clear, professional communication skills, attention to detail, solid time-management abilities, and a consistent commitment to project follow through.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft programs - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to learn new computer programs quickly.
  • Ability to travel as needed in support of the requirements of the position.
  • Working knowledge of social media outlets.
