Job Summary:

Master Muffler is looking for a Service Writer to work at our Layton location. Service Writer pay is competitive and there are many training opportunities and advancement opportunities in the workplace including upper management and ownership opportunities.


Help Manage and maintain a great culture for the team

Assist store operations

Daily and weekly Paper work

All vendor invoices

Set and meet sales goals with manager and team

Cost control

Hit Profit goals

Quality control of customer interaction and technician work

Maintain great customer experience throughout each interaction

Maintain shop grounds and equipment to ensure safety and functionality

Sell repairs and maintenance to all customers

Manage employees commissions and hours

Ensure inventory is updated, accounted for and accurate

Assist Operations Manager/Regional Manager in acquiring accounts for the store and maintain those relationships

Assist AR/AP in tracking down missing parts or billings

Show ownership over your store and team

Constantly monitor and improve the operation of the Shop


  • Understand automotive problems/concerns by listening to customers description of symptoms; clarifying problems through asking questions.

  • 4+ years of customer experience

  • 2+ years of management experience

  • Must have 2+ years industry experience

  • Must be able to show leadership skills

  • Demonstrated that he/she has set and achieved goals.

  • Must be able to clearly explain why he/she would be the best to move the store forward in profitability and sales growth.

  • Optimistic and hopeful. The first one to show up, volunteer and complete assigned duties.

  • Expert Sales person, including excellent phone skills.

  • Show expertise in inventory management.
