MARKETING AND PUBLICITY ASSISTANT, MIT Press, to support the marketing and publicity departments. Will execute marketing and administrative tasks to promote books and journals. Responsibilities include organizing and maintaining files and materials; assisting with execution of email, social, web, and print marketing campaigns; managing contact and inquiry mailboxes; contributing to social media posting, blog post writing, and marketing email creation; gathering reports to track the performance of marketing campaigns; supporting direct and email marketing list pulls, uploads, and list management; coordinating and executing marketing and publicity-related printing and mailing; assisting with proofreading, price checking, and permissions as needed; organizing and submitting marketing invoices for payment; documenting processes to increase team productivity; submitting authors to seasonal awards lists; helping gather research on top publicity and advertising channels for individual book promotions; helping create and design presentations for internal meetings and conference sessions; coordinating the seasonal creation of advanced reading copies of books for use by the publicity department; coordinating and submitting information to Publishers Weekly and The Bookseller for their regular round-ups; assisting individual publicists on research projects and campaigns where appropriate.
REQUIRED: high school diploma or its equivalent; at least three years' administrative, office, or related experience; and strong writing and editing skills. Seek a motivated team player who enjoys working cross-functionally with global and virtual teams. PREFERRED: Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field; experience with marketing tools and Adobe Creative Cloud Suite; familiarity with Office 365; strong organizational, verbal and written communication, and presentation skills; attention to detail; andability to handle diverse projects and meet tight deadlines.
