Contractor Resident Engineers/ Clerk of Works to monitor various Public construction projects statewide, including CM@Risk, new construction, renovations, demolition, environmental remediation, and energy and water conservation projects including large retrofits, commissioning, and installation of renewable energy technology. Observe and document daily ongoing construction activities to monitor job progress and to ensure work of Contractor is in compliance with project plans and specifications.
Resident Engineers work with Designer, Contractor, and Project Manager/Project Engineer to maintain quality control, ensure appropriate construction methods, procedures and safety requirements, adherence to contract documents and compliance with all related codes and regulations, including accessibility codes and guidelines.
Assist the Designer/Consultant Team to schedule and coordinate all on site testing and ensure all tests are conducted properly. Maintain accurate project records, ensure contractor as-builts are up-to-date, assist with oversight of MEP and Enclosure Commissioning, utility incentives, punch list, project close-out and delivery/turn-over from construction to user agency operations.
Contractor Resident Engineers participate in Facility Performance Evaluations and preparation of general contractor performance evaluation.
Min BS/BA degree in Engineering, Architecture or a field providing equivalent expertise and
A least five (5) years related experience.
A minimum of ten years (10) supervisory construction experience will be considered in lieu of a BS/BA degree.
Qualified applicants will possess a thorough knowledge of building construction methods and familiarity with applicable state/federal codes. Licensed Construction Supervisor preferred.
