Job Description

Fast-growing Food Manufacturing Company is currently seeking experienced Plant Manager.

  • The Plant Manager leads the plant facility in efficient, safe, effective, and profitable methods to meet and exceed customer expectations by continuously improving systems, materials, processes, products and in development of employees to assure consistent availability of high quality products at competitive costs.
  • Provides leadership to entire plant operations which includes the planning, direction, coordination and management of all plant maintenance, production, facilities, EH&S, and personnel. Implements performance objectives that cascade down from overall  strategic goals.
  • Directs staff and works cross-functionally with multiple departments, direct labor teams, and suppliers to build effective processes and deliver the daily, weekly and monthly objectives of Employee Safety, Quality, Food Safety, Service, Cost and Employee Morale.
  • Follows all health and safety standards, GMP’s, food safety, visual quality, and PPE requirements.
  • Sets priorities and gives direction based upon the daily/weekly production plan, on time and in full delivery of customer orders, controls labor costs, meets KPI targets.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum 7-10 years of experience actively managing a fast-paced food production environment. Fresh, Frozen and Chilled food experience preferred.

• Advanced education or related degree in culinary arts, food safety or management is preferred.

• Bi-lingual English/Spanish desirable

• Previous experience in a seasonal business environment would be helpful

• Project management skills and experience in a continuous improvement environment is required.

• Certification and training in HACCP and Culinary arts is helpful.

• Strong familiarity with GMPs, HAACP compliance, SQF requirements, and experience in working with USDA, FDA inspectors, regulations, policies and procedures.

• Demonstrated excellence in driving consistently strong profitable sales growth

• Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills

• Strong Microsoft Office skills

• Financial and business acumen Required attributes

• Able to work a flexible schedule to ensure efficient operations across shifts/days when necessary.

• Ability to work in a hot/ cold/ damp environment and stand for extended periods

• Self-starter able to conceptualize and drive initiatives forward

• Positive attitude and motivated by contributing to the overall success of the team

• Able to develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

• Creative problem-solving skills

• Obsessive attention to detail, well organized and able to juggle many projects at once

• Comfortable moving at a fast pace and in ambiguous environments

• Passionate about food • Willing to address difficult situations head on with patience and respect
