  • Position Summary: IS Manager Business Applications and User Services
  • This position is responsible for leading the Business Applications and User Services team within the IS Department within MGIT.
Under general direction, provides organizational leadership in the development, implementation and maintenance of service consistent with the Mission, Vision, Values and Strategic Plan of the Mary Greeley Medical Center. Leader understands, supports, communicates, and promotes hospital initiatives. Ensures all actions taken in carrying out responsibilities support patient centered care and a respectful work enviornment.

  • + Plans annual lifecycle management activities for end user equipment, including PC's/laptops/monitors/mobile devices, peripherals, etc. Includes responsibilities for budgeting, and developing and executing the annual work plan.
  • Ensures that all end user devices are updated with currently supported software versions to ensure a stable, secure environment from which our users can do their best work.score: N/A

  • + Works directly with information technology vendors during new system implementationscore: N/A
  • + Instills a culture of customer service by emphasizing responsiveness, resourcefulness, follow-through, accuracy, timeliness and accountability.
  • Is a champion of process improvement and leads the team to higher levels of IT maturity in the areas of ITSM (Information Technology Service Management).
  • Develops a lifecycle management approach to all business applications used across the MGMC enterprise. Creates application inventories, and works with vendors to ensure all production applications are kept current and supported.
  • Assists in the creation of a strategic roadmap for business applications, end-user computing and ITSM that aligns with the rest of the MGIT IT architecture.
  • Uses ADKAR and other methodologies to drive successful user adoption of business and user facing applications to ensure MGMC is harvesting the full value of the solutions.score: N/A

  • Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
  • Required Qualifications (Including any licensure, certification, education):
  • Bachelor's degree
  • in MIS, Computer Networking, or Computer Science; supervisory experience or project leader; any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability in analysis and problem solving of complex technical issues.
  • Valid driver's license and must maintain eligibility for coverage under MGMC liability insurance.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Five years experience in project management or supervising/managing in an information systems environment
  • Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
  • Skill in effective oral and written communication in English.
  • Knowledge of basic arithmetic, algebra, statistics, and their applications.
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Active Listening skills, giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Ability to manage one's time effectively.
  • In-depth knowledge of HIPAA/HiTech regulations and policies.

  • Considerable knowledge of current methods and techniques to support network infrastructure including voice/data networks, servers, SAN, security, and desktop workstations
  • Ability to work with complex systems and requirements; translate technical terminology into user friendly terms
