Job Description
Martin Marietta is currently looking for energetic individuals to become a part of our maintenance crew as a Mechanic. This position is primarily responsible for the repairing and maintaining of mobile mine equipment. Such as, scalers, drills, roof bolters, etc. May also be asked to operate mobile equipment, fixed plant equipment, and other mobile equipment as necessary.
Essential Functions
- Ability to troubleshoot, repair and maintain all mobile equipment
- Mechanically inclined on a wide variety of hand tools and power tools
- Ability to weld, cut, and perform minor fabrication on plant
- Ability to work in outdoor environment and in elevated areas
- Other duties as assigned
Work Environment
This job operates 100% of the time in an underground or surface mine setting. This role frequently operates heavy equipment.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time 2nd shift position that may require long hours and weekend work.
Required Education and Experience
- High School degree
- Previous maintenance experience
Preferred Education and Experience
- 2 year degree in welding or diesel mechanics or
- Certificates in welding or diesel mechanics
