Job Description
The Food Service Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and maintaining food programs for the Martha O'Bryan Center’s afterschool programs.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Oversees all aspects of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) for the Martha O'Bryan Center.
  • Coordinates with meal vendor on a daily and weekly basis to ensure adequate meals for all programs.
  • Plans menus prepares meals from vendor (heating food and assembling meals), and portions foods according to CACFP guidelines. 
  • Delivers meals to afterschool sites daily or weekly.
  • Conducts a weekly audit of meal counts and works with Finance department to submit claims for reimbursement. 
  • Assists in the monitoring and review of meal program procedures in order to maintain compliance with CACFP guidelines.
  • Maintains paperwork as required by the CACFP, which specifically includes menus, production records, recipes, and meal counts.
  • Determines production quantities; compiles and places food orders and supplies with vendors.
  • Follows safe and sanitary food handling procedures at all times. 
  • Ensures that food service equipment is maintained.
  • Implements procedures for maintaining high standards of sanitation and hygiene in the storage, preparation, and service of food.
  • Implements and monitors safety policies and procedures. 
  • Attends and participates in professional development opportunities. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • One or more years of food service training and experience.
The above qualifications express the minimum standards of education and/or experience for this position. Other combinations of education and experience, if evaluated as equivalent, may be taken into consideration.
Special Demands:
The special demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Ability to obtain Food Service and Sanitation certification.
  • Regular local travel in Center vehicle.
  • Current, valid driver’s license.
  • Clean driving record.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, talk or hear, and taste or smell. The employee frequently is required to walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
