Summary: Under supervision of the Executive Director, performs duties related to providing administrative assistance to all departments on a case by case basis. Supports the Corporate Compliance Program, the Code of Ethical Conduct, and promotes the mission and values of Martha Jefferson House both internally and within the community.
Essential Functions:
- Duties are interchangeable based on need.
- Assists the marketing program with census needs, this includes taking phone calls, mailing out packets, and assisting in the tours of Martha Jefferson House
- Assists Human Resources with administrative duties including file audits, bulletin boards, data entry, newsletter and other admin tasks as assigned.
- Assists ED and applicable directors with special projects.
- Performs scribe duties for particular meetings
- Collaborates with all departments on projects
- Identifies potential markets and make presentations regarding Martha Jefferson House, and/or invite participants on-site for meetings/tours to increase community awareness.
- Performs any duties assigned by the ED that contributes to the efficiency, image, and visibility by the greater Charlottesville community.
- Promotes a positive environment for residents and staff members.
- Attends meetings based on needs of MJH
- Performs other work as required.
- Maintains training compliance through Relias
Required knowledge, skills and abilities:
Education: High School Diploma or GED. CPR certified.
Job Knowledge: Knowledge and skill of meeting the special needs of the elderly and disabled persons; Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance. Must meet all local health regulations including a criminal background investigation and reference inquiry. Experience in Microsoft Office applications, Evernote, and Apple devices. An editing background would be helpful.
Standards: Must have a genuine interest in the elderly. Patience and tact. Interested in learning and advancement; ability to work congenially with others. Respect for the principles of resident rights, confidentiality, EEO and ADA. Must be able to move between multiple tasks concurrently and make decisions efficiently.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
