Marshfield Medical Center, the Marshfield Clinic Health System flagship hospital, cares for patients from throughout central, northern and western Wisconsin. Marshfield Medical Center offers primary, secondary, tertiary and Level II Trauma Center hospital services provided by Marshfield Clinic specialists. Access to a Level II Trauma Center, ensures 24-hour availability of anesthesiologists, dedicated medical equipment, operating room facilities, physician specialists, surgeons, and trauma nurses. The CT Technologist performs a variety of technical procedures using ionizing radiation that requires independent judgment, ingenuity, initiative, and requires 6 months to one year of training to produce diagnostic computed tomography (CT) images. The CT Technologist works under the direction of a Radiologist to perform CT procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision for technical detail.
The Technologist assumes responsibility for designated areas of procedures and taking corrective action for minor equipment and/or computer malfunctions. Room set up, patient positioning, patient screening, image acquisition and quality control are the direct responsibilities of the Technologist. Must acquire and maintain specialized technical skills and medical knowledge to render quality patient care.
Each technologist is responsible for the safety of his/her patients, visitors, and medical staff in the CT area while in his or her care.
