General Purpose of the Position:
The Carole Zabar Center for Film is seeking to hire an individual to join our ever expanding JCC Film Department and play a key role in planning, operations, and production of the department's programs and initiatives. The position will include oversight of various areas including weekly screenings, production management for film festivals and developing virtual and in-person projects.
The Carole Zabar Center for Film is a leading presenter of films in NY with an ongoing weekly film program and home to the ReelAbilities Film Festival as well as the Israel Film Center, The Other Israel Film Festival and Cinematters: NY Social Justice Film Festival. The Center presents films that pertain to our community and include topics related to social change, Jewish life and Israel.
The Center is active both in person and virtually and is home to Israel Film Center Stream, the prominent streaming site for Israeli films in the US.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead, oversee and streamline production for all of our Center's programs and festivals.
- Develop and organize department processes, roles, and structure.
- Help initiate and develop programs.
- Develop partnerships, outreach and promotion of events.
- Negotiate film screening rights, licensing and booking.
- Manage overall department calendars, timelines and budgets.
- Lead strategic initiatives for marketing and promotion in collaboration with the marketing department.
- Oversee website content.
- Liaise with other JCC departments.
Execute weekly screenings and events, including:
- Virtual and in-person screening details planning (scheduling, attendees, speakers, set-up, staff)
- Coordinating filmmaker and speaker attendance
- Oversee Q+A moderation
- Assist Jewish Film Presenters Network ongoing communication and production of bi-annual conference
- Manage department+festival timelines.
- Manage, hire and oversee festival seasonal staff and production
- Coordinate venues, receptions and events.
- Manage production schedule and ROS.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
- 5+ years of experience producing and running cultural events
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Detail oriented, organized and service oriented.
- Ability to see greater organization, long term planning, and structural vision
- Strong project-management skills, from concept and planning to implementation.
- Ability to independently lead projects, programs and initiatives
- Experience working on multiple overlapping projects
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as a supportive member of a team
- Flexibility with work hours (office hours plus additional evening/weekend events)
- Film, television, media experience a plus
This position can be hands-on and requires some mobility as well as use of office equipment. The position also requires in person communication at times, for extended periods.

Salary: $65,000 to $70,000
