Our client is a standalone party and event rental operation that handles everything from backyard parties to corporate events and weddings. They are seeking a highly motivated and talented Accounting Manager to join their team in Willoughby, OH.

Job Summary:

The Accounting Manager is responsible for the timely production of financial reports, entering and paying invoices, and conducting daily banking activities. In addition to those tasks, they will be responsible for Human Resource related tasks such as processing payroll and benefits administration.

Duties and Responsibilities – Accounting:

·         Pay supplier invoices in a timely manner

·         Take all reasonable discounts on supplier invoices

·         Pay any debt as it comes due for payment

·         Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants

·         Collect sales taxes from customers and remit them to the government

·         Record cash receipts and audit branch bank deposits

·         Meet with ownership weekly to go over budget and financial scorecard metrics

·         Respond to internal support requests by issuing credit memos and fixing issues in ERP software

·         Handling Accounts Receivable duties when AR staff is unavailable

·         Maintain the petty cash fund

·         Issue financial statements

·         Provide information to the external accountant who creates the company’s financial statements

·         Assemble information for external auditors for the annual audit

·         Calculate and issue financial analysis of the financial statements

·         Maintain an orderly paper and electronic accounting filing system

·         Maintain the chart of accounts and annual budget

·         Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management

·         Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements

·         Collect sales taxes from customers and remit them to the government

·         Submit 401k contributions in a timely fashion

·         Suggest and implement accounting software and ERP integrations to improve processes

Duties and Responsibilities – Human Resources:

·         Process payroll in a timely fashion

·         Handle HR requests in regard to benefit administration, COBRA, FMLA

·         Respond to and approve or deny PTO requests and track in payroll software

·         Follow the Onboarding/Offboarding Checklist to track required forms, trainings, certifications for new and existing employees

·         Work with ownership during medical renewal season to select, implement, and communicate these plans to staff

·         Provide clerical and administrative support to management as requested

·         Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

·         Associate’s degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience

·         Knowledge of bookkeeping and generally accepted accounting principles

·         Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks certification is highly desirable

·         Attention to detail and deadline-oriented

·         Ability to maintain confidentiality

·         Strong time management and administrative skills

·         Well-developed interpersonal skill; able to get along well with diverse personalities; tactful, mature and flexible

·         Ability to operate independently and “self-manage” projects

·         Team-oriented

·         Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
