Education/ Experience Needed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
  • CPA License preferred
  • 10+ years of accounting experience required
  • 5+ years experience managing, engaging and developing direct reports

Skills Needed:

  • Strong analytical, attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent Microsoft Word and Excel skills
  • Experience with Accounting/ERP Systems, Great Plains, Oracle or equivalent

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage an accounting staff of 7 employees
  • Manage the day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, accounts receivable, accounts payable and inter-company transactions
  • Responsible for monthly closing and financial reporting for multiple entities according to schedule
  • Lead the annual budget and monthly forecast process by collaborating with department management
  • Conduct certain general account reconciliations and review reconciliations prepared by internal accounting staff
  • Responsible for the review and completeness of the Monthly Review Binders
  • Collaborate with business partners, customers, and vendors to support business needs and establish better relations
  • Assist with financial year-end audits and quarterly reviews including audit of internal controls
  • Review cash disbursements prior to release and ensure the compliance with company internal control policies
  • Assist with internal control policy and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley 404 and provide feedback and suggestions for improvement
  • Collaborate with other functional areas on accounting and reporting matters, including employee benefit, tax and insurance
  • Manage the process for accounting for special transaction or projects, including accounting system implementation, special needs internal reports, and research newly encountered accounting transactions
  • Update and maintain process and system documentation to ensure proper training of new personnel

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Manage assigned team, 7 employees
  • Ensure properly trained backups are available for key roles and duties
  • Maintain a succession plan for key positions
