Marathon Petroleum Company LP, a recognized leader in the energy industry, is seeking a Safety Professional at its Kenai Refinery located in Nikiski, AK.
This position is responsible for several areas of safety and health programs at the Kenai Refinery. This includes: program development and implementation, providing guidance and interpretations, technical assistance related to safety and health issues, ensuring OSHA regulatory compliance, interaction with refinery employees and contractor personnel to ensure safety procedures and regulations are followed, conducting accident/incident investigations, safety training, emergency response, recordkeeping, turnaround support, auditing and hazard recognition.
A Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety & Health or Industrial Hygiene is required. Strong communication, time management, interpersonal, and computer skills are also required. Candidates should be thoroughly familiar with OSHA standards and have experience in safety auditing, incident investigation and behavior-based safety. Experience working as a safety professional in a petroleum refinery/petrochemical work environment is preferred.
