Job Description

The Plant Maintenance Manager position is full time and based at one of manufacturing facilities in TN. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for all plant equipment, facility maintenance, etc. in a welding, cutting and fabricating environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned or requested.

  • Supervise maintenance personnel and programs for all plant equipment and facilities.
  • Plan and schedule preventative maintenance for all mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical equipment, project work, and reactive maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot electrical problems using a digital multi-meter and schematics. Systems include basic industrial controls, as well as automated PLC-driven equipment.
  • Plan, assign and review work for all maintenance staff to ensure conformance with established methods, policies, and procedures.
  • Install and align new and existing machinery using levels, squares, plumb bobs, straight-edges, feeler gauges, and other hand tools.
  • Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating plans, actions, irregularities, and open items. Train staff and create written maintenance procedures to ensure work is done properly.
  • Troubleshoot equipment by using experience, manuals, drawings, schematics, operating procedures, and common sense.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, cranes, and hoists to dismantle, repair, and re-assemble machines, welding equipment to repair equipment and fabricate new items.
  • Install and align new and existing machinery using levels, squares, plumb bobs, straight-edges, feeler gauges, and other hand tools.
  • Collect and analyze maintenance and machine performance data to improve the maintenance program.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.


  • Eight years of industrial maintenance experience as a supervisor or lead.
  • Strong PLC experience using RS500 & RS5000 systems
  • Limited Maintenance Electrical License (LME) desired.
  • High school diploma required. College preferred.
  • Strong math skills; computer proficiency, including E-mail, Word, Excel and a CMMS system.
  • Ability to make quick, accurate decisions.
  • Must have own hand tools
  • Forklift certified or able to obtain forklift certification.
