What you will do: The Project Manager will provide project leadership for a government client's program of improvement and integration, providing services including but not limited to project management, change management and process improvement. (This position requires experience on federal projects).

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Perform project management processes consistent with the best practices from the Project Management Institute, including but not limited to initiating the project through a charter, develop scope through a work breakdown structure and schedule, developing effective communication channels, monitoring work performance, closing and transition work to future state owners.
  • Provide detailed analysis of project inputs (such as data from schedules, change control system, risk mitigation plan etc.) and generate reports and communicate project status effectively at multiple levels of management.
  • Assist in strategic discussions and visioning for client initiatives, with the development of strategic plans.
  • Provide project team members effective leadership and alignment to plan throughout the project life cycle.
  • Solicit project status and risk information from multiple sources, and communicate projects impacts to stakeholders.
  • Provide detailed analysis of project inputs (such as data from schedules, change control system, risk mitigation plan etc.) and generate reports and communicate project status effectively at multiple levels of management.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with all project stakeholders.
  • Lead team to develop standards/guidelines business processes.
  • Develop approach for leading individuals and groups through change in the organization.
  • Establish a process improvement framework consistent with Lean Six Sigma concepts to establish current state, future state, gaps and a road map to resolve all gaps.
Qualifications:
  • Experience providing technical support to a project team across multiple project activities, and effective communication (oral and written)   with a diverse stakeholder population.  Must have experience working on federal projects.
  • BA or BS degree and more than 5 years of work experience with strategic planning and process improvement or MA or MS degree and 3 years of experience with strategic planning and process improvement.
  • Proficient using MS Office applications (Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Proficient using scheduling software such as MS Project or Primavera.
  • Experience monitoring project budget, schedule, scope and risk and providing transparency to the customer.
  • Experience with technical writing, including standard operating procedures, policy and needs analysis and development, strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and applying performance management concepts, and using dashboards for communicating results
  • Knowledge of communication strategies and stakeholder engagement for both strategic planning and implementation of a performance management structure
  • Ability to communicate strategically, clearly, and concisely across multiple platforms, including Microsoft Office 365
  • Ability to be a team player and collaborator and operate with virtual teams
  • Ability to lead meetings, prioritize and resolve conflicts, mitigate risks, and manage tight deadlines
  • Ability to obtain a United States federal security clearance
  • Able to think strategically to develop a plan, get buy-in for the plan, communicate the plan and execute the plan
  • Experienced in all the Knowledge Areas identified by the Project Management Institute
  • Experienced leading individuals and groups through changes in an organization
  • Experienced with process improvement concepts and able to lead improvement teams and initiatives
  • Ability to manage and negotiate solutions among multiple stakeholders with different priorities, perspectives, and engagement styles
  • Preferred Skills:  PMP Certification
  • Experience in organizational change management
  • Lean Six Sigma certification
