Quality Supervisor

Management Business Solutions (MBS) is seeking a Quality Assurance Lab Supervisor for our client in Albert Lea, Minnesota. This person will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining product quality according to plant, food, quality, and environmental regulations. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of manufacturing processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Manage and mentor a team of lab technicians, ensuring that they are properly trained and performing their duties effectively.

· Oversee the testing and analysis of food product samples, including conducting chemical and physical analyses to determine the quality and safety of products.

· Develop and implement laboratory procedures and quality control protocols to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

· Maintain accurate records of all laboratory activities, including test results, equipment maintenance, and calibration logs.

· Collaborate with other departments, such as production and research and development, to ensure that products are meeting quality and safety standards at all stages of the manufacturing process.

· Conduct internal audits of laboratory procedures and practices to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

· Identify and investigate any quality control issues or deviations, and take appropriate corrective action as needed.

· Stay current with industry trends and changes in regulations, and ensure that the laboratory is up-to-date on any new developments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Science in Food Science, Biological, or Chemical Engineering or any related field.

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a quality control or quality assurance role in the food industry, with experience managing a team of lab technicians.

• Current HACCP and PCQI certified.

• Knowledge of industry regulations and quality control standards, such as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

• Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.

• May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
