Location: Malvern/Hot Springs, AR

Reports To: Region President

GENERAL SUMMARY
Under general supervision of the Region President, the Consumer Lender is responsible for soliciting loans to consumers in the service area(s) while maintaining and servicing existing portfolio. Performs business development by calling on perspective clients and expanding current relationships; Examines, evaluates, and authorizes or recommends approval of customer applications for loans by performing the listed duties. Professionally works with other team members in support roles. Works ethically and with integrity and upholds organizational values. Insures compliance with internal policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Consistently deliver phenomenal customer service through aggressive friendliness accompanied by honest, positive, and confident behaviors
- Interview loan applicant and request specified information for the loan application
- Request loan applicant's credit reports, background checks, references checks and other information pertinent to the loan applicant's evaluation
- Analyze loan applicant's financial status, credit, and property evaluation to determine feasibility of granting loan or submit application to credit analyst for verification and recommendation
- Correspond with or interview loan applicant or creditors to resolve questions regarding application information
- Compile loan package and facilitate negotiation of loan structure with applicant, including fees, loan repayment options and other credit terms
- Approve loan within specified limits or refer loan to the loan committee for approval
- Ensure loan agreements are complete and accurate according to policy
- Assure timely loan closing and funding activities
- Identify and analyze potential loan markets to develop prospects for new loans
- Contribute to the overall market goals through intentional conversations and relationship building with customers in efforts to cross sell bank's other financial services
- Successfully complete compliance training; Adhere to internal controls and procedures; Understand and comply with bank policies as well as regulations and laws applicable to the position
- Stay abreast of trends and developments in the local market(s) and competitive environment
- Maintain a professional image and adhere to standards consistent with company policy
- Maintain customer confidence and protect bank operations through utmost confidentiality
- Perform any other related duties as may be required or assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED required
- Bachelor's degree; or four (4) years related work experience/training in business field (accounting, business admin, finance, etc.) required
- Minimum two (2) years work experience in lending department required
- Minimum one (1) year underwriting experience required
- One (1) year consumer lending experience preferred

Consumer Loan Officer must be able to

- Exhibit strong analytic skills while organizing information
- Ability to quickly assess and process large amounts of data and use of appropriate software technology
- Calculate figures and amounts (e.g. discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, etc.); apply mathematic concepts (e.g. fractions, ratios, proportions, etc.)
- Read, understand and comply with documents (e.g. policy manuals, laws, regulations, internal procedures and controls, etc.) and exercise independent judgement, initiative, and discretion based on knowledge of such in performing daily activities
- Must be active in the community and in those job-related organizations to enhance the network of beneficially contacts
- Continue to expand knowledge of issues influencing the industry and the organization
- Exercise trustworthy service, courtesy, tact and diplomacy in dealing with others
- Efficiently use standard office equipment (i.e. desktop/laptop computer and software, copier, scanners, printers, fax, 10-key calculator, multi-line telephone system, etc.)
- Proficiently use MS Office applications (Word, Excel)
- Valid driver's license and current automobile insurance
