Job Description

Summary: Performs duties required for keeping critical systems functioning to support all other departments. Provide current, appropriate, and accurate date to meet the immediate and future needs of the entire Cobalt Team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Install and support LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems.
  • Install and maintain network hardware and software.
  • Assist installing new and maintaining existing servers onsite and in cloud services.
  • Monitor networks and systems to ensure security and availability for users.
  • Work with management to determine network and system requirements.
  • Manage the configuration of authentication and authorization of directory services for the Cobalt Boats.
  • Review Active Directory user access on a regular basis to maintain user access.
  • Maintain computing devices, including software, patching, drivers and settings of personal computers and devices.
  • Maintain network servers, firewalls, and switches.
  • Help put processes and infrastructure in place to maintain a stable network environment.
  • Assist IT Management with project work to grow the technology infrastructure of the organization.
  • Troubleshoot installation and implementation of systems.
  • Provide input and recommendations to the organization surrounding hardware and software technologies.
  • Provide input to hardware and software maintenance agreements to ensure integrity of operations processes.
  • Monitor MBUU’s SIEM and alerting system taking action to identify and resolve incidents.
  • Monitor and manage back ups of system data, systems and configurations to the appropriate media.
  • Create and update any documentation related to this job description.
  • Administer servers, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, smartphones, software deployment, security updates and patches.
  • Research, recommend technical solutions to IT and business challenges
  • Maintain the security access system including user lists, firmware updates & door/gate access.
  • Setup, configure and deliver computers (desktop/laptops), printers, time clocks and other technical equipment.
  • Help users with basic system related functionality. If necessary, gather information to promote the request to the next level either internally at Cobalt/MBUU or to an external help desk.
  • Maintain ERP system access roles as determined by manager & supervisor reviews, new and terminated team members and as requested and authorized on a regular basis.
  • Repair computer systems, hardware and computer peripherals as needed. Identify unresolved hardware and software problems for resolution.
  • Monitor the network printer server as well as spool files and print queues on the iSeries/400.
  • As the position might require access to sensitive company and personal data, keeping such information confidential is required and expected.
  • Support end-users with IT-related problems in a responsive and service-oriented manner.
  • Conduct help desk support as required for Lifecycle requests for new, transfers and termination of users and other Help Desk requests as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor, manager, or Leadership team.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, absolute minimum of Associates degree in IT field.
  • Minimum of 2 years working experience in IT/Network Administration.
  • Experience with Cisco Systems and network cabling knowledge.
