Description

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Pricing Manager is responsible for implementation of company pricing strategies. This position is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of pricing, discounts, costing, tax, freight and depletion data. Through these areas of responsibility the Pricing Manager assists in ensuring Maletis Beverage achieves its goals of competitive market pricing, profitablity, market share growth and customer satisifcation. The Pricing Manager oversees Pricing Specialists and related processes, including, staffing, direction, communication, training and evaluation. The Pricing Manager is a liaison between the Sales and Accounting Departments by timely executing sales pricing while ensuring accurate accounting of profitability.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

  • Manage and supervise Pricing Specialists.
  • Manage the prompt and accurate data entry of pricing, promotions, costing, and depletion information.
  • Develop and lead processes to effectively execute and communicate pricing to retail customers in a timely manner.
  • Build proposals for Price Increases and communicates with Retailers, Supplier and Sales Department.
  • Ability to perform all Pricing Specialist tasks and back-up as needed.
  • Ensure workflow processes can meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analyze Gross Profit to ensure accuracy and identify any irregularities.
  • Communicate with Sales Management to understand and execute company pricing strategies.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of Pricing Promotions and communicate to Sales Management.

 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

This position reports to the Accounting Manager, but will also take direction from Sales and Key Account Management.

 

SUPERVISION EXCERCISED

This position provides general supervision to the Pricing Specialists.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position operates in an office environment. This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.  

This is a full-time position. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee is expected to work eight hours a day, five days a week (Monday through Friday) and must be available during the work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional overtime or work outside normal business hours may be required for account functions or as other job duties demand.

  • Remaining stationary 50% of the time. Ability to move objects up to 10 pounds from one location to another frequently or occasionally.
  • Having ability to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; accessing information from a computer terminal.

  • Excellent time management skills to organize and prioritize tasks to meet time sensitive deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and accounting skills.
  • Ability to audit records for accuracy with attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Highly skilled in the use of Excel spreadsheets, including filters, subtotals, lookups, importing data and graphing.
  • Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material.
  • Must have excellent work habits which include dependability and flexibility.
  • 2 years or equivalent of manager experience required.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Distribution, wholesale, or retail industry experience a plus.
  • Previous experience with Route Accounting System (RAS) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
