Our client, a national manufacturing company, is seeking an ambitious HR candidate who is currently a SR HR Generalist or HR Manager within another manufacturing organization and who is interested in moving up quickly. Ideal candidates will have USW, UAW or similar Union negotiation experience within a manufacturing organization. For those not already residing in the greater Richmond, VA area, our client is offering a full relocation package.
This role manages one direct report, an HR Generalist. The employee population is 110 with 85 employees assigned to manufacturing positions. The HR Manager our client seeks must be hands on and not adverse to being on the manufacturing floor up to twice a day if required. To be effective, the individual in this role needs to begin his/her day between 7 AM and 7:30 AM Monday through Friday. Each day ends comparatively early between 4 and 4:30 PM. There could be one or two times a year in the case of a severe and unexpected emergency situation where the HR Manager would have to come in during the night shift; but such instances are very rare.
The Human Resources Manager originates and leads Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented; high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity, and standards; goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce.
The Human Resources Manager administers various human resource plans and procedures for all company personnel; represents our client at all UAW and USW Union meetings and negotiations; and participates in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains employee handbook and policies and procedures manual
· Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in HR or closely related field.
· 5+ Years of combined HR Experience in a MANUFACTURING environment.
· 2+ years of experience as an official company representative at UAW or USW Union negotiations / meetings.
· Knowledge of relevant labor laws.
· Certification of PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or related designation preferred.
· Highly competent and up to date MS office skills
Compensation and Benefits:
Base salary range of $90K to $110K plus a 10% bonus, matching 401K, full benefits, generous PTO including paid vacation and full relocation if required.
