Job Description


We are looking for someone who is ready to take the leading financial role in a successful company experiencing explosive growth. The Financial Controller (and aspiring CFO) we are looking for is ready to step right into a challenging and rewarding position in which they can truly spread their wings. The right candidate will not only improve overall company financial health with valuable insights, but will work closely with the following members of management to develop best practices in a multitude of areas of accounting:


    • CEO: Create, provide, and keep record of financial reports, projections, and forecasts as needed; Financial Advisement; Audits


    • COO: Create and provide regular financial reports and extrapolate actionable information to advise on improvements (if needed) of day to day operations, as well as financial advisement in strategizing for longer term operations.  


    • Administrative Director: to structure and implement Accounting processes, and continually streamline said processes to ensure maximum efficiency.


    You will be responsible for creating accounting processes, and policies; and lead a team in a mission to track, organize, analyze, and extract insights from financial data. Working closely with the CEO and COO, the right candidate will take ownership of aspects of Magnum’s Accounting responsibilities, including AR, AP, Budgeting, Payroll, and Auditing. We are excited to increase efficiency, and further our operation in all areas with the greater financial oversight and analysis filling this position will afford us.

    • You like to hone in on the smallest detail to ensure pinpoint accuracy, as well as back out to see the “bigger picture” for perspective. 
    • Not afraid to roll up your sleeves, and do the grunt work yourself if that’s what is necessary to ensure the accuracy of the data going into a spreadsheet or your team’s contribution to a project. 
    • You understand that in accounting, perfection is best, but not always immediately achievable, and that workarounds are needed to keep daily functions running while a perfect-striving solution is actively being worked on. 



    Responsibilities

    • Accounts Payable:
      • Create a system to organize and streamline our AP process. 
    • Accounts Receivable: 
      • Create a plan to work with delinquent accounts to bring them up to date.
      • Create and enforce policies to ensure payment are received on time. 
    • Teach and mobilize a bookkeeper to support your endeavors. 
      • Ensure efficient processes are being developed, implemented, and followed. 
    • Budgeting & Spend Management: 
      • Ability to work with Directors to compile and analyze current spend. 
      • Create budget drafts from the top down while concurrently working from the bottom up to ensure thorough analysis of the company’s current financial health as well as extrapolate financial projections. 
    • Payroll: 
      • We recognize that taking care of our employees is one of the most important things we do. Managing payroll is a responsibility we don’t take lightly. 
      • We are looking for someone who understands the weight of this responsibility and willingly tackles the challenges of integrating the nuances of a complex pay structure into an efficient system of communication that ensures a 100% accurate payroll every time. 
    • Highly Proficient in the following: 
      •  Cost Accounting
        • Can view financial reports with a keen eye to eliminate waste spend. 
      • Auditing Accounting
      • Managerial Accounting
        • Creates performance reports regularly, to assess company performance  
    • Managing risk and preserving assets


    Requirements and Skills


    • Strong problem-solving skills. 
    • Proven working experience creating policies and enforcing said policies to create greater efficiencies in Accounting processes (Budgeting, AP, AR, Payroll, Financial Reporting, Financial Control)
    • Extensive experience in automation of accounting functions. 
    • Excellent communication skills
      • Confidence in ability to interface with all levels and departments of the organization is a must 
    • Leadership and mentorship experience is a must.
    • Expert- level knowledge of Excel 
    • Expert- level knowledge of QuickBooks Online, and other accounting software. 
    • Extraordinary organizational skills



    Employment Type: 

    • Full-time


    Monday through Friday:

    • 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM (flexible schedule)
