Job Description

SUMMARY

The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Manager will partner with internal stakeholders tackling complex and interesting challenges directly impacting the business. The role focuses on analysis, reporting, and strategy development to support the initiatives of the firm. This person will be responsible for creating original analyses and recommendations for senior leadership and key company stakeholders.

A successful candidate for the role will have strong data visualization skills, along with a thorough understanding of accounting and financial principles, with an ability to structure outputs and solve ambiguous problems, and an interest in driving results. The role will include a variety of strategic and financial responsibilities, ranging from the managing of some global reporting and forecasting functions to direct ownership of strategy and project management for critical initiatives including, but not limited to, mergers and acquisitions. This is a hands-on position with high executive visibility and therefore a high degree of personal accountability is a requirement.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Manage financial and planning components of high-profile strategic and operational initiatives, offering opportunities for broad cross-functional interaction
  • Perform complex modeling, risk, and sensitivity analysis for development into the long-range financial plan and operating objectives
  • Facilitate the annual budgeting process across the organization including operating expenses, capex, and cash flow budgets
  • Own production of the monthly Board materials. Manage the creation of content and analysis, including the development of recommendations for executive decision-makers
  • Collaborate with company leadership to develop appropriate KPIs and dashboards to enhance reporting and operational visibility
  • Extract additional insight and recommendations from the organization’s existing data, particularly as it relates to region or segment-level financials
  • Develop strategic roadmaps and project plans for key global or regional initiatives, direct certain key initiatives
  • Investigate, identify, and articulate opportunities for the organization to improve its data structure or reporting globally
  • Ensure financial reporting is consistent throughout organization and that all staff are using the same set of facts to make decisions
  • Work directly with the BI Analytics team to define rules around data management and reporting governance, aligning reports and reconciling differences to allow for data and KPI consistency

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in a business, engineering, or analytics field with exposure to finance or accounting
  • At least 3 years of experience required; experience in management consulting, corporate finance, investment banking, or private equity preferred
  • Preferred experience working with global organizations with high levels of complexity
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills while being independent and resourceful
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others, including senior leadership, and being resourceful in solving problems independently
  • Strong knowledge and familiarity with corporate financial statements and with an ability to link decisions to financial statement impacts
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint, and ideally proficiency with Power BI or other data visualization tools. Experience with Adaptive by Workday a plus.
  • Comfort with large data sets, standard sampling techniques, and statistical analysis

The position is in an indoor, office environment, requires the ability to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors verbally and in writing, sit for periods of time, operate typical office equipment which requires seeing and the use of a keyboard
