Summary
The Packaging Line Operator runs to par standards and makes adjustments to a packaging line that performs one
or more packaging functions such as filling, marking, labeling, taping, or packing containers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following duties. Other duties may be
assigned by supervisor.
Observes machine operation to detect malfunctions and performs adjustments and/or repairs if necessary.
Replenishes packaging supplies, which includes seasoning blends, bottles, cans, films, caps, sleeves, bags, labels,
boxes, etc.
Inspects materials (cases, bags, cans, bottles) and products at each step of packaging process to ensure that
product is produced according to specifications.
Stacks master cases on pallet according to appropriate ti-hi specifications.
Cleans line components such as hoppers, feed screws, fibers, fillers, tubes, pails, drums, conveyors, etc.
Maintains work area and equipment by, but not limited to, sweeping, dusting, scrubbing, organizing, wiping,
mopping, washing, disinfecting, and sanitizing.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training;
or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and
procedure manuals.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide five-digit numbers. Ability to perform these operations using units of
weight measurement and volume.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
Basic computer knowledge.
