Requirements

The Senior Design Engineer role reports to Ben Gezon/ Engineering Principle on a collaborative team working on a variety of projects and initiatives to support the growing business. This role is responsible for the layout, design, and coordination of a wide range of exciting local projects.

Top deliverables in the first year to be a hero:

• Deliver high quality designs that are fully coordinated, free of errors, and on time.
• Meet or beat engineering budgets established on each project.

• Communication – This job requires a lot of coordination and effective written and oral communication is key!

KEY ROLE ACTIVITIES:

• Direct workflow for other team members and delegate task assignments on assigned projects.

• Efficiently work on multiple projects, advancing them from concept to successful conclusion with minimal supervision.
• Design, perform calculations, select equipment, and layout Mechanical HVAC and Plumbing systems.
• Coordinate designs with architects, structural engineers, sub-contractors, owners representatives, and other external partners.
• Similarly, coordinate designs with salespeople, project managers, field personnel, and other MacDonald-Miller colleagues.
• Support mechanical construction projects with Revit, AutoCAD & Bluebeam Revu software.

• Understand and stay current on codes, standards, and industry practices.
• Learn and utilize company standards to deliver consistent design and construction documents.
• File, organize and maintain all paperwork and digital files.
• Express ideas clearly and listen effectively to others.
• Mentor and train other team members.

• Establish and maintain a solid rapport with co-workers and other departments.
• Represent MacDonald-Miller’s vision and character both internally and externally.
• Maintain a collaborative environment between engineers, CAD operators, BIM specialists, account executives, superintendents, operations managers, project managers, detailers and office personnel by following an integrated project development process to create documents for all project phases.
• Understand, accept and support MacDonald-Miller Facility Solutions’ Operating Guidelines, Operational Beliefs & Customer Commitment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong accountability.
• Dependable with tracking project deliverables, thoroughly checking work, finishing assignments, and meeting deadlines.

• Comfortable navigating Microsoft Office products.
• Capable of learning and adapting to computer software, trends, and technology.
• Exercise strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Self-motivated and goal-setting.
• Ability and willingness to work independently or in a team atmosphere.

• Take pride in their work and accepts a level of responsibility for their professionalism and accuracy.
• Willing to adapt to MacDonald-Miller standards and procedures

Benefits

Compensation: $120,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
