Raleigh, NC (Must live or be willing to relocate to NC and Work Onsite Daily as a Full-Time Employee)

Purpose:

Provide field support for the company's SCADA, telemetry and AMI systems and operations, with primary focus on SCADA and other grid optimization technologies.

Requirements

• Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. No visa sponsorship is available.
• Candidates will be required to pass a background check and drug screening.
• The candidate will be onsite daily when converted to full time, with a preference to be onsite during the contract period.

• Provides rotating on-call support.

• OSI Administrator Support Required, supporting 11 OSI Systems.
• 1-2 years’ experience as a System Administrator with OSI experience is required.
• Travel to cooperatives is required. Client provides a vehicle that is for work-related use only.

• Take leadership and be the first line of support with calls from customers, and work with OSI support until resolution is reached.
• Perform OSI System Administration, monitoring, backup.
• Perform database and display changes as needed.
• Perform OSI system upgrades.

• Develops a program of planned preventive maintenance for Member SCADA systems.
• Develops training programs to aid NCEMC and Member personnel with the operation and maintenance of the SCADA system.
• Develops “trouble-shooting” guides to improve the restoration of service during problem periods.
• Reviews maintenance and outage reports periodically for generic problems or trends and recommends corrective action.
• Installs systems upgrades to SCADA and AMI systems.
• Installs changes in software including Linx and Windows operating systems, and databases associated with the SCADA systems at Members locations. Responsible for ensuring that Patch Management Service (PMS) is performed monthly per NERC requirements.
• Assures Member compliance with all NERC security mandates relating to EMS systems.
• Analyzes, repairs, and maintains SCADA master stations and operator consoles.
• Configures and stages SCADA, such as Linx and Windows servers, workstations, printers, modems, and related LAN equipment.
• Provides field support for Smart Grid technology deployed at distribution sub-stations.
• Provides field support service for Member’s Automated Meter Infrastructure (AMI) including; installation, operations and maintenance that creates a positive interface and expectation by the Member systems.
• Develops and utilizes baseline knowledge of applications, systems and/or technologies assigned.
• Follows established procedures for change control, root cause analysis, issue resolution, service ticket creation, assignment resolution and closure.
• Stays current on technology through reading material, on-line training, available classes, and lectures in order to incorporate any relevant applications to existing systems or processes.
• Responsible for protecting confidential information, including unauthorized use, dissemination, or publication of confidential information.
• Ensures work is in compliance with NCEMC and EMCT standards, policies and practices.
• Maintains a general awareness of individual and team responsibilities related to emergency response, disaster recovery and business continuity plans for the organization, and takes appropriate action when necessary or during an event.
• Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
