Voice Over IP Installation/Service Technician
MTS is currently recruiting for the position of Voice Over IP Installation/Service Technician. We are seeking qualified individuals to join a growing company deploying technology solutions nationwide. VoIP Installation/Service Technician are responsible for configuration, installation, testing, troubleshooting and repair of Voice solutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS:
Installation of customer voice solutions including but not limited to: Mitel, Asterisk based phone systems, ethernet switches, voicemail, call accounting, etc.
Travel to customer sites for installation and repair. Coordinate with sales and technical team to install and maintain client systems to meet customers' needs.
Provide technical assistance, guidance and training to customers to install, repair and maintain the performance and functionality of voice equipment.
Must be available nights and weekends to be "on call" for after hour customer issues.
A willingness to cross train to other technical areas including TV, CCTV, and WiFI to become proficient in all aspects of installations.
Work with vendors and manufacturers to learn about new communications technology
Fundamental working understanding of analog voice, data, VoIP, SIP, and networking.
Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends if necessary. Overtime will be compensated.
Must be willing to travel up to 50% of the year with a Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail with strong customer service skills
Proficient in working with on premise voice and data cabling.
A desire to make a difference in both individual and team environments
Ability to use the small hand tools and drills
Drive, manage and take ownership of end-to-end projects
Ability to follow through with tasks, projects, and troubleshooting with minimal supervision.
Meets deadlines by prioritizing work requests.
Self-starter with excellent organizational, administrative, and interpersonal skills.
EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Technical school training or equivalent work or military experience
Associates or Bachelors in electronics or other related experience preferred
2+ years’ experience including but not limited to: Voice over IP Systems, SIP, Voicemail, Call Accounting, Networking prefered
