Job Description

Title: Manufacturing Draftsman

Department/Area: Engineering Department

Position Summary: The candidate will use computer-aided design and engineering drafting software to create and revise tooling drawings for forging and general shop support as related to the manufacturing of aerospace fasteners.

 

Skills and Attributes: Must be able to read blueprints and understand GD&T. Candidates should posses good communication skills, the ability to multi-task, be organized and be able to work with minimal supervision. Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner. Gathers and analyzes information skillfully. Develops alternative solutions as required under the circumstances.

 

Daily tasks: Develop and review drawings in accordance with engineering instructions. Duties include creation of models, assemblies and associated drawings. Revision of existing drawings in AutoCAD and/or Autodesk Inventor. Some clerical work including filing and inventory updates in Microsoft Excel. Based on experience, the candidate may be asked to measure various machine parts and/or tooling for the purpose of drawing creation.

 

Minimum Qualifications and Education: Two years’ experience using AutoCAD and Inventor software or completion of college level coursework in AutoCAD and Inventor. Strong reading and math skills. Candidates with SolidWorks experience in lieu of Inventor will be considered.
