Heavy Civil Fleet Manager
Location: Livingston, NJ

Established company (since 1998), with expertise in heavy construction, water utility, and sewer utility management and now principally CIPP, Sliplining, Bypass Pumping, Pipe Bursting, CML, Geopolymer, Shotcrete, and continued advancement providing trenchless technologies—is looking for a Fleet Manager for the Livingston, NJ area. This is a full-time, permanent position.

***Must have experience in Heavy Civil Construction!!!!

Fleet Manager works closely with the Equipment Manager and Project Teams to decide which vehicles and equipment need to go to which work site, based on each type of project. This role oversees proper storage and housing of vehicles and manages the fuel consumption for the vehicles, and tracks use of each piece of equipment, including monitoring costs associated with operating and repairs. Responsible for maintaining inventory of parts and supplies

Other responsibilities

• Manage, implement, and improve processes to ensure the company has a viable and well-maintained fleet, develop fleet replacement cycles, capital requirements, and priorities of asset re-deployment
• Partner with the Shop for maintenance and repair plan for entire corporate fleet and verify that all such procedures are performed on a timely basis and at the proper interval
• Work with the Purchasing department and vendors to establish standard vehicle specifications per company recommendations, as well as leveraging corporate buying power for high-expense items and equipment
• Oversee installation, maintenance, and operation of telematic and GPS devices, including training and hardware support
• Interact with drivers/Operators daily, answering any questions and ensuring drivers/Operators can safely operate and understand the operational procedures and are following applicable federal, state, and local laws
• Provide oversight and assistance as it relates to process development/improvement, PM inspections and compliance, purchasing, tire programs, fleet repairs, maintenance diagnostics, and DOT compliance

Qualifications:

• 5-7 years’ of prior experience a Fleet Manager role
• Experience in Heavy Civil construction required
• A minimum of an Associate’s degree
• College degree preferred in Logistics, transportation, business administration or automotive technology
• Detail oriented, self-motivated, and self-directed, problem-solving
• Experience in leading teams

Salary range: $130K - $140K + benefits including: eligible for medical, dental, vision, life insurance, LTD, STD, 401k and company match , vehicle allowance with a gas card and EZPass and company cell phone.
