Job: IT Support Analyst

Where: Waukesha, WI


Under the direction of the IT Project Manager, this position is responsible for providing level one support to internal employees and external members to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues to facilitate goals and meet information and automation needs of the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide level one support for internal employees and external members; Works closely with staff and members to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve reported issues, as well as vendor experts to troubleshoot and solve issues
  • Configures, customizes, and maintains CVMIC’s internal and external sites
  • Maintains and updates various application component
  • Creates and updates knowledge base documentation
  • Builds and maintains accurate inventory of all user devices, software, and equipment
  • Utilizes IT ticket system to track, troubleshoot, resolve, and escalate issues
  • Provides users with programs, passwords, and privileges
  • Performs department specific installation and repairs
  • Recommends system modifications to reduce user problems
  • Coordinates with manager to anticipate employee software and hardware needs
  • Participates in team efforts to achieve organizational goals
  • Provides technical assistance and training to users
  • Writes and updates user and system documentation as required

Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists IT Project Manager with coordination of IT work performed by outside consultants and vendors

Education and/or Experience

  • One-year related experience in IT support or formal training in IT user support

Knowledge of:

  • MS Windows applications and other help desk support functions
  • Computer information systems technology, including server operating systems and networking protocols, and network design
  • Various computer operating systems
  • Antivirus software, backup software, and remote monitoring and management tools
  • Network security, protocols, and wireless technologies
  • Information research techniques and available resources


  • Providing technical assistance to users
  • Analyzing and interpreting technical data
  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining client/server databases, routers, firewalls, and email systems
  • Being customer-focuses, adept at problem solving and working collaboratively with others
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail

Ability to:

  • Document, track and monitor various problems to ensure a timely resolution
  • Work independently
  • Resolve both routine and non-routine problems using logic and standard troubleshooting procedures
  • Manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions, occasionally in urgent situations
  • Maintain, fix, and update various application components using XML, .Net, SQL and Java Script
