Job Title: Chief Operations Officer

SUMMARY
In collaboration with and reporting directly to the President/CEO, this position will be primarily responsible to oversee the implementation of River Bend Food Bank's short and long-term strategic plan to achieve organizational goals and objectives. The COO will be adept at providing leadership and vision to the company, working with the Executive Team to support, execute, and further the mission and values of RBFB.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude, but are not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Possesses master strategist and visionary traits, creating an environment that promotes innovation, diversity, and positive culture.
Holds desire to be part of an innovative, entrepreneurial organization with the ability to prioritize, move quickly, and keep track of multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Exhibits executive-level communication, interpersonal skills, organization, and persuasion and influence of stakeholders.
Offers advice, guidance, and direction on business matters, including operational policies, continuous process improvement strategies, and new initiatives.
Fosters and supports an environment of solutions, accountability, and successful outcomes.
Coordinates with Directors, Managers, and departments to achieve desired outcomes.
Supervises assigned employees, mentoring, and inspiring them by promoting their growth and linking their work to RBFB vision/mission.
Performs data collection and analysis, tabulating and maintaining departmental statistics and translating results, preparing reports, and presenting key findings.
Seeks out creative approaches to shifting community issues and employee needs.
Attends all required meetings; represents and communicates the mission and purpose of RBFB to the community, elected officials, funding organizations, community organizations, media, and businesses.
Stays current with ongoing research to implement best practice models.
Serves as a member of the Executive Team, collaborating and communicating with all RBFB departments and providing crucial information from the departmental perspective for the development and implementation of RBFB's strategic plan, budget, policies, and procedures.
Cultivates positive relations through education with agencies, program partners, clients, Food Bank staff, volunteers, donors, and other members of the public.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Three years food banking experience
- Master's Degree in Education Management, Operations Management, or related field experience with at least 10 years of experience in non-profit leadership and project management with measurable success, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working in culturally and ethnically diverse environments and facilitating relationships among various sectors.
- Bi-lingual skill sets (English/Spanish) helpful.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook and especially Excel, with ability to quickly learn new programs and industry specific software.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to effectively multi-task, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to speak publicly in diverse forums and effectively present information to individuals and groups.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and client-centered, with the ability to establish strong relationships with outside organizations and agencies.
- Strong leadership and people development skills with the ability to effectively manage a team.
- Ability to thoroughly understand and appreciate the mission, vision, policies, culture, values, key stakeholders, programs and finances of the River Bend Food Bank.
- Ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
- Accurate typing and data entry skills.
- Willingness to support the mission of the organization and to help end hunger in our area.
- Ability to travel frequently throughout the Food Bank's service area, with occasional out of town and overnight travel required.
- Ability to occasionally work outside of regular business hours to accommodate business needs.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
- Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment criminal background investigation and drug test.
